Interning in EY Cork

Walking out of the elevator on my first day at EY Cork I was so excited. I had been there before for the one day ‘Discover EY’ programme but this time was different.

About the Cork office;

Ireland’s second city offers a unique working environment for professionals. Cork is following in Berlin’s footsteps to become a thriving cultural hub with artists, investors and entrepreneurs – lured by access to best in class educated students (UCC/CIT), low rents, a great standard of living and laid-back way of life.

By 2020, EY Cork plans to provide work for up to 200 people. Sitting on the banks of the River Lee, our Cork Office is home to 160 EY employees. Since moving to its current location on Lapps Quay ten years ago the number of people has grown by 60%.

The EY Cork office is an amalgamation of a number of firms, some of whom have been active in the city for over 100 years. Their historic tie to the city has helped to anchor us in the Munster Capital, whilst our expertise and extraordinary client service has helped us to grow and expand. Our EY Cork Office deals mainly with clients in the technology, agriculture, pharmaceutical and energy industries offering services in Assurance, Taxation (Business Transaction Services and Human Capital), Advisory and all aspects of Transaction Advisory Services (TAS).

Indeed Cork is the chosen European manufacturing and services location for the worldwide operations of many major corporations such as Pfizer, Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline, Eli Lily, Schering Plough, Apple Inc., Boston Scientific, Stryker, Johnson & Johnson, EMC, Amazon, Bank of New York Mellon and Citco.

Cork’s location is its greatest selling point, from desk to deckchair in 15 minutes - Ireland’s best beaches are just minutes away from EY. Drive 30 minutes from Patrick’s Bridge and you’re in Kinsale, Crosshaven, Cobh, Youghal or any number of beautiful villages.

EY Cork is simply an extraordinary place to create your future!
