I'm Greta and I'm an audit assistant at EY Ireland.
I got into bodybuilding about 3 years ago and it has been my passion ever since. I fell in love with the sport because it allowed me to be physically and mentally stronger, it gave me the confidence that I badly needed and it challenged me. In order to be successful in this sport you need to be dedicated, committed and persistent. You need to be able to set, organise and prioritize you goals as well as practice long-term thinking as results don’t happen as quickly as you’d like.
This year, I also decided to take it a step further and compete in my first ever bikini fitness competition because it’s something I’ve been wanting to do ever since I got into bodybuilding. Balancing work, study and my personal fitness goals requires a lot of planning and prioritizing my goals. Working at EY allows me to be more flexible with my commitments and also bringing in skills such as goal setting, persistence and long-term thinking to work with me every day has helped me.
Bodybuilding has effectively improved my confidence when dealing with clients at work, and being passionate and persistent in achieving my career goals for example making time to study for my exams, prioritize my tasks a work, make stronger connections within the workplace. I always knew I wanted to become an accountant and of course signing a training contract with one of the Big 4 was always the dream. I feel so privileged that my hard work, dedication and motivation has led me to receive my place at one of the most influential firms, and has given me the opportunity to pursue my professional accounting qualifications. I know the confidence and determination I have built up over time is due to bodybuilding which has immensely assisted me in achieving greater performance within EY.
I'm Greta and my natural talent is persistance.
