Tax is divided across two sectors.
Our Financial Services Organisation (FSO) offer services to our clients in the Financial Services sector, including Global and Domestic Banks, Insurance companies, some of the world’s largest Wealth and Asset Management firms and Private Equity Houses, as well as specialist areas such as Aircraft Leasing firms and Credit Card processing. The FSO team in Ireland is directly linked to FSO in EMEIA (Europe, Middle-East, Africa & India).
Meanwhile our UK&I Tax business provides a broader, more multi-industry service offering, where EY teams work with clients from the industrial, commercial, and technology sectors. These teams work with some of the world’s largest and most important companies, across the broadest spectrum of Industries, ranging from Government Institutions to Global Tech Giants to top Fashion Houses. Our teams are constantly being challenged with new and fresh asks.
Our people are often part of internationally focused teams which mirror our clients’ global operations. They work in borderless and highly diverse teams on a daily basis to deliver the best results for our clients.

In order to ensure you make the most of your time in Tax we’ve designed the Graduate Programme around you and your needs.
This Programme offers you the opportunity to enhance your skillset through real-world application. You’re not in college anymore. Your work will finally have the impact you desire. Working with colleagues and clients you will develop strong analytical skills for analysing company performance such as year-on-year sales growth by revenue stream, gross margin analysis, debtor provisioning, inventory days and gearing. You will enhance your business writing and technical skills and you will learn how to network properly, build working relationships and lead and manage projects. These skills will become the invaluable tools needed to propel you towards one day becoming a Partner, senior leader or even setting up your own company.
Over the next three and a half years training with EY to become a fully-qualified accountant, you will refine your skills and enhance your knowledge within your chosen specialism. Naturally, you will build up a network of amazing people and be exposed to all sorts of industries through your everyday work.
When you finish the Graduate Programme you will not only be a fully qualified accountant but a Chartered Tax Advisor too, with five years of business experience under your belt.
You are joining a firm that offers world-class coaching and career development support as you pursue your professional qualifications. While there will be a certain focus on building your technical skillset, we also want you to gain the skills needed to manage your workload and create a healthy work/life balance. The Graduate Programme is your career incubator. Quite simply, it’s the perfect foundation to launch your career.

It will help you to recognise the links between exam and workplace learning and advise you on when and how you should focus your study time coming up to exams. You will have internal and external lecturers on hand to offer advice as we deliver a ‘best in class’ professional education experience.
The study leave provided by EY is well in excess of that recommended by the Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI) so you should have no bother passing your exam first time:
