How FAAS helped me create my own Global Network
EY prides itself on having a global network, which I myself never truly understood the extent of until recently. It took me 8 years to realise how truly amazing and beneficial this global network can be to your personal and professional development and how you can create your own global network within EY.
"Whenever I felt that I required exposure to something new, EY was always there to back me."
Since joining EY in 2010, I have worked in over 3 service lines (Assurance, Advisory and Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) and even helped out in TAS (Transaction Advisory Services) and Tax) and on countless projects in several countries (South Africa, France, Ireland and Germany). I have also had the opportunity to combine and coordinate my own global team which consisted of over 18 countries. Since joining FAAS I have worked with some of the best known global big shots!
I didn’t move around in EY because I was unhappy or restless, I moved around to increase my exposure to different areas in the organisation both locally and globally, to increase my experience and to work with various subject matter experts across different fields. When joining EY, you are joining a global family made up of the best subject specialists all with various backgrounds, interests and skill-sets. The EY family is extremely diverse and encourages you to be the best you can be and strive to be different.
Whenever I felt that I required exposure to something new, EY was always there to back me. EY is full of opportunities around every corner of the globe and the people of EY are passionate about the organisation and about helping their fellow colleagues to achieve their career goals in line with their personal aspirations.
I have realised that the global network refers to more than EY’s global footprint. It refers to the various locations, people, knowledge, diversity and inclusiveness, market leading thought leadership, intellectual property and anything and everything that makes EY great! FAAS has given me the opportunity to realise the power and benefits of being part of the EY global network and to also create my own.
