My journey to Corporate Tax Manager at EY

I joined EY in May 2014 as an experienced hire after completing my training in another firm.  Having joined as a Senior, I have since been promoted to Assistant Manager followed by promotion to Manager.

My day-to-day role entails working with a variety of clients ranging from small / medium sized enterprises, to multinational household brand names. On any given day, my role can be corporation tax compliance related or of a tax planning nature arising as a result of the ever changing tax landscape. Throughout the day I interact with a number of different teams at all levels and on a range of different assignments / projects. I am tasked with managing a portfolio of clients which includes the teaming up of jobs with the appropriate levels of staff, depending on the complexity of the work, and delivering that work to the client within the agreed timeline.

"EY offers endless opportunities to build your career on a continuous basis."

A large portion of my time is also spent dealing with clients and having regular client facing interaction. This is beneficial for building a rapport with the client whilst also understanding their business needs and how we can best serve and support them.

Throughout the past 4 years in EY I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the work whilst being adequately challenged on a day to day basis. The business has always provided me with stretch goals and has afforded me the opportunity to progress and develop my personal and business skill sets. Every day brings with it its own challenges and rewards.

EY offers endless opportunities to build your career on a continuous basis. Coming here was certainly the right choice for me.
